GINA:
"Recognising the contribution of the local media, Head of State President Bharrat Jagdeo will be hosting members on Saturday evening at a dinner.
This has been a traditional initiative of the President, but in the past took the form of a media brunch.
The event is usually held early in the year, but none was held in 2005, because of the widespread flooding that resulted in a national disaster."
Guyana 360: Is this some sort of a joke? They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, thats true. That is also true for the media. We are just concerned as to why would the President host a dinner at this time just before elections. We had flooding this year too.
Just to let those Journo quacks know, the President has not entertained a single press conference within the last few weeks even with so much unusual occurances.
He has gone on several important overseas conferences and has refused to face the media on those outcomes.
By the way, we heard that at the last dinner organised by His Excellency, the media was unfed and had to sit and wait on several important persons to finish eating before they could get their story. Served the them right, they like eat.
But it was a bit bad on the President's behalf, because he was hosting a dinner in honor of Former Jamaican Prime Minister, PJ Patterson.
Those who were there would know.
