New paper in planning stages

Breaking news:

There is much buzz in the business community of another national newspaper backed by Dr. Ranjisinghi Ramroop under a proposed publishing name of Guyana Times.

Sources have already flinched at the plan since Dr. Ramroop has over the years been a strong supporter of the PPP administration and has been seen repeatedly in the comfort of the President at various public places.

Several power players in the PPP have voiced disapproval with the once favoured Kaieteur News, evident from the reversal of a Government position to pull state advertising from Stabroek News.

It is believed that Ramroop’s venture could challenge the status quo and talks are already ongoing with several journalists in the print media. Information suggest that the plans while in its embryonic stages is so concrete that one journalist has walked away from a Caribbean job and has returned here to be part of the editorial team.

Finances is not an immediate concern as the goodly doctor is setting up a multi-million dollar complex at the former Sanata Textile location on Mandela Ave. (Back Road).

More details forthcoming.

Guyana360: We prefer to await the publication before passing judgement.
